[ArcheAge 3.5] – Rough Translation of Patch Notes

Some of you may want the full patch notes of this update. This is it, although some parts are going to be incorrect.

I have excluded some things, such as PCBang, Marketplace and KR’s Patron status, since they do not apply to our version.

Note that there will be some mistakes. I aim to try to make it as accurate as possible.

Text in red mean that I am unsure of the translation. Some are in Korean still since I have no clue what they are saying in those.

This is a very rough translation, despite the time spent. If you have any suggestions for what needs to be fixed (especially in red + Korean), please comment. If any need to be modified that are already in English and not red, you can also comment there, and I’ll put it in an orange color until I have it confirmed, which then it will become green. (Let’s collaborate, please!)

Successor Levels + Attribute Skills

  • We have added a window in the Skill UI, where you can viewย attribute skills.
    • When the EXP bar is full, you can go up a level by clicking on the Level Up button
    • You have the ability to choose attribute skills by clicking on them.
    • Choosing attribute skills requires “Successor Points”, and only one attribute for a skill can be chosen at a time.
    • Changing attribute skills requires a gold fee, which is proportionate to your character level.
    • The maximum “Successor” level is level 7.
    • When you are one of the “Successor” levels, your status bar displays this with a gilded wing (representing the Ipnya wings) and your “Successor” level.
    • Added achievements related to Successor Levels.

Areas + Npcs

  • A new region in Auroria, called “Whale Song”, has been released.
    • “Erosion of the Erosion” content starts.
    • Player nation people and pirates currently share the same respawn point, but are going to be separated later.
    • There are residential areas in Whale Song.
  • Another new region, called “Candlestick Strait”, has been released.
    • “The Flickering Candlestick” content starts here.
    • Added new monsters: “Hook” and “Hook”
  • A new ocean area, called “Whale Waves Strait”, has been released.
  • The restricted area in the northwest area of the Arcadian Sea has been lifted so you can travel between the land zones and the ocean zones.
  • Upgrading your Diamond Shores base will allow the Coastal Base to work, allowing you to use the Trading Post there.
  • There are ferries that travel from Nuia to Haranya, and back.
    • One is from Solis Headlands to Two Crowns, and back.
    • The other is from Solzreed Peninsula to Ynystere, and back.
    • These cities have a ferry manager that is near the Trading Post.
      • You can purchase protection from them, so you cannot be attacked on the boat.
      • However, if you leave the ferry, you are not protected.
  • Perinoor Ruins has had the location of Ghost/Spirit mobs around the Archaeology Base Camp moved around, and their number has decreased.
  • The fence at the Windscour/Perinoor entrance has been removed.
  • Completing Daily Quests and killing mobs can increase the danger level of a zone.
  • Added War and Peace times in the Golden Ruins.
  • Non-safe zone areas have had their war/peace times have been adjusted.
  • Changed the minimum number of participants in the Free For All arena.
    • Although the suggested number of participants is 12 people, you will only need 6 to start.
  • Removed some items from the Honor Shop.
  • The Shadow Merchant is no longer able to buy certain packs.
  • Adjusted some prices of items at vendors.
  • Guard and Sentry (NPC) levels have increased to level 55.
  • Added Successor Levels to NPCs.
  • Removed Freedich Island Gold Trader? Or does it just not show? ๐Ÿ˜€
  • Added the appropriate background music in the Redempton city in Sunbite Wilds.
  • Added the appropriate background music in some part sof Aubre Cradle.
  • Changed and removed some loot from Mistmerrow quests.

Character Changes

  • Changed some EXP requirements for level 50-55.
  • Added some animation for certain skills.
  • The Nui’s Blessing buff now decreases in effect over time.
  • The Overpowered buff of World Bosses has been reworked.
    • You can use combat skills and such, but skills that heal have had their healing effect greatly reduced.

Skill (Window) Changes

  • Changed the name of the Skill Window UI.

  • Changed the Skill Window so it cannot be opened (or at least utilized) while fighting, casting, in a transformation, or if you are dead.

      • Shield of Steel (passive): Physical defense increase is now +6% instead of a constant.

      • Magic Detection (passive): Magical defense increase is now +5% instead of a constant.
    • Shadowplay
      • Wallop: Changed the attack speed from 1.6 seconds to the default 1 second.
    • Songcraft
      • Critical Discord: Decreased to 15m range.

  • Endless Arrows, Rapid Strike, and Mana Stars have been altered slightly to be affected by the attack speed increase ability.

Whale Song and Candlestick Strait Events

  • Whalesong – an event occurs here.
    • Only happens while the zone is in War.
    • Process:
      • Get the starting quest at your nation’s base (east/west/pirate/player nation) in the Whalesong Bay Area.
      • All mobs will disappear except in two selected regions of the map.
      • After the event is complete, mobs will return.
      • If you successfully defend your base, you win.
      • Over time, harder mobs appear. You need to kill them. After that, there is a final boss called “Zakhar” you’ll need to kill.
      • If you fail to finish it before the time limit, the event automatically ends.
    • There are two objects you can interact with to help defeat those mobs.
    • Different monsters appear when the event happens in Whalesong.
  • Candlestick Strait – an event occurs here, too!
    • Starts when Candlestick Strait’s in war.
    • Players must kill the mobs destroying the seal (as in like… a sealed door, something like that) and the monsters that pop out during the duration of the event.
    • Each nation has their own separate place to fight those mobs:
      • Nuia Alliance: West spire
      • Haranya Alliance: East spire
      • Player Nation: North spire
      • Pirates: South Spire
    • During the event, an NPC comes by to help each nation, and you can summon them through the Defenders of Erenor. (Not sure how this mechanic works.)
    • Related quests can be received from going into the central spire in Candlestick Strait.

Mistmerrow Battle

  • Reduced the duration of the Mistmerrow Battle by 8 minutes, to alleviate excessive waiting and boredom.
  • Reduced the duration of the quest giver NPC at the beginning of the battle from 10 minutes to 7 minutes.

Halcyona War

  • The war is no longer at a set time, and occurs accordingly to the war/peace cycle.

Raid bosses

  • Altered spawn and despawn times of the following bosses:
    • Kraken
    • Red Dragon
    • Leviathan
    • Delphinad Ghost Ship
    • Ghost Ship
    • Hanure the Hunter
    • Rangora
    • Morpheus
    • Nazar
  • Changed some mechanics in the Thunderwing Titan summoning.

Quest

  • Some quests in the areas below have been removed or made easier:
    • Gwenoid Forest, Solzreed Peninsula, Lilyut Hills, Dewstone Plains, White Arden, Marianople, Two Crowns, Falcorth Plains, Arcum Iris, Tigerspine Mountains, Mahadevi, Solis Headlands, Villanelle, Silent Forest.
  • Changed the Blue Salt Trade Pack quest chain:
    • Nuia: Lilyut Hills to Dewstone Plains to Two Crowns to Solis Headlands Trading post.
    • Haranya: Tigerspine Mountains to Mahadevi to Solis Headlands to Two Crowns Trading Post.
    • Changed some of the trade pack quests to no longer accept them.
  • Added a mouseover tool tip in the Quest Log, so you can view basic details of the quest without having to click on it.
  • Added 24 racial quests. Requirement needed.
  • Added a book called “Seva’s Diary”, ย a reward for completing the racial quests.
  • When the racial quests are complete, chapters 7 through 15 have been changed to display “Closed”.
  • The wisps in the “A Nation Is Born” quest have been changed to 2000 Sunlight Archeum Essence, 2000 Moonlightย Archeum Essence, and 2000 Starlightย Archeum Essence.

Vocation/Life

  • Changed the time for the Worm Compost from 20 hours to 8 hours.
  • Map now shows tax rate.

Guild

  • The guild leader will now always be shown at the top of the guild roster.
  • Two guild missions have been added:
    • Defeat the Sealbreaker! (Candlestick Strait)
      • Depending on your nation (west/east/pirate/player nation) you have a quest to kill the mobs/boss that is destroying the seal (I’m guessing that’s sealing away the Akasch). (This one shows the East nation quest.)
    • Protect the Whale Coast! (Whalesong)
    • *Forgive me, I’m terrible at giving names for quests.

Family

  • Changed the Blue Salt Delivery quest to “Transaction of Trading“.
    • Awards Charcoal Stabilizer x 15, but you’ll need to get this itemย to purchase a Trading Post pack.
  • Added additional quests related to trading.
  • Minimum level requirement after this update to do family quests is level 30, but will not apply to characters under level 30 that have already unlocked the quests.

Heroes

  • Changed the location of a hero’s information in the Hero window.
    • Shows this month’s accumulated leadership, previous leadership
    • Last month’s hero and votes
    • Candidates for Heroes UI slightly altered.

Residency

  • Added 10 new quests. (they’re like the soup one and the pumpkin one I believe.)
  • Added 8 kinds of products for residents.
  • Added 7 kinds of purchasable goods to have protection on the ferry at the Ferry Captain.
  • Added several merchants and crafting stations in the Community Centers.
  • Inside of the Community Center has been decorated (in a way that fits with the zone’s feel).
  • The Community Center bulletin board is not affected by the UI scaling that you have set.
  • You can now see property listing on the bulletin board.
    • You can see properties for sale in the zone. Has the size of the house, cost, location and other things.

Housing/Decor

  • 16×16 houses can be upgraded to two floors, and the bottom floor is now similar to an Upgraded Thatched Farmhouse (although the 16×16 houses only have two plant beds).
  • 18 new furniture items have been added.
    • Purchase the special material in the Vocation Shop. The design can be purchased at Mirage Isle in the Spired Chateau display.
  • Properties with prepaid taxes can now be sold or demolished.
    • If selling, the prepaid taxes are transferred to the person purchasing a property.
    • If demolishing, the prepaid taxes will not be returned.

Erenor Gear

  • Released Erenor Gear.
    • Cannot be regraded. Can only go up grades with Synthesis.
    • When being synthesized, you must use the same grade of the Erenor equipment in the material equipment.
    • Can only Synthesize using weapons on weapons, or armor on armor.
      • To be more specific, two handers will need two handers, bows need bows, one handers will need one handers… However, for armor, it seems that as long as the armor is in the correct slot, you can synthesis chest armors together, as well as for the other pieces.
    • Can use pretty much anything for Synthesis, except those regular drops from mobs (Like stuff obtained from “Unidentified _____ Weapon/Armor”.)
    • For more detailed information, look at the Equipment Encyclopedia.
    • Synthesis effects can be altered using a scroll designed for Erenor gear.
  • Added crafting recipes for the Erenor gear.
    • Armor and weapons can be made at their respective Regal workbenches.
    • Cloaks can be made at the Proven Warrior Workbench.
  • Added crafting recipes for the Ipnya Scroll, an item used in the making of Erenor gear.
    • The crafting materials come from Whalesong, Candlestick Strait. And you need Dragon Essence stabilizers.
    • The workbench is in Candlestick Strait, at the center spire in the zone.
  • Added the crafting recipe to reroll stats on an Erenor item.
    • Can be made at the same workbench the Ipnya Scroll is made at.
  • Added achievements for crafting Erenor items.

Gear/Items

  • We have changed the selection of an item’s prefix so that you can automatically choose the modifier when unsealing a freshly-crafted Ayanad item.
    • Items that have been unsealed can be resealed using this item.
    • Sealed items can be unsealed to select the prefix, or it can be used to craft the next tier of gear.
  • Tiers under “Conquerer’s” have been removed from the crafting portfolio, but still can be used.
  • All Salvage Forge items are no longer used.
    • Can’t create Salvage Forges anymore, and existing ones cannot be used.
    • It can be sold to a vendor or turned into Thunderstruck Trees.
  • Armor Type Effect has been altered:
    • Plate
      • Physical Defense to Magical Defense Ratio – 120:0
      • Complete Effect (7/7): +5% Max Health, +3% Physical Defense, -20% Stun/Shackle Duration
      • Partial Effect (4/7):ย +5% Max Health, +3% Physical Defense
    • Leather
      • Physical Defense to Magical Defense Ratio –ย 60:60
      • Complete Effect (7/7): +3m bow distance, +3% evasion rate, -20% Trip duration
      • Partial Effect (4/7):ย +3m bow distance, +3% evasion rate
    • Cloth
      • Physical Defense to Magical Defense Ratio – 20:100
      • Complete Effect (7/7): -50% casting interruption when hit by enemy, +3% movespeed, -20% duration of all debuffs
      • Partial Effect (4/7):ย -33% casting interruption when hit by enemy, +3% movespeed
    • Increased the base p.def on plate armor by 20% instead of increasing it on the set effect.
    • Removed increased attack speed and critical rate on leather.
    • Removed decreased cast time and increased magic damage, and debuff reduction has been lowered to 20%
  • When Sealed items are used in higher-tier crafting, the required grade for it to be used can be found in the crafting portfolio.
  • Lord’s Coins can now be sold in the Auction House.
  • Made the maximum number of potions, drinks and foods in a stack from 100 to 1,000.
  • Changed the maximum stack size of Recovery Pouch designs from 10 to 100.
  • Identified some blueprint and building names.
  • Changed the effect of “Ancient Wild Stones”???
    • I don’t know what this is.
  • Added a collectible trophy obtained by defeating Whalesong and Candlestick Strait monsters.
  • All damage/healing power and pdef/mdef for Epic and Legendary items have been modified.
  • Added the Primordial grade.
    • Most items can reach the Primordial grade, except for ones that have a limit on the highest grade it can achieve.
    • Achievements for regrading an item to Primordial have been added.
  • You can now see armor set effects in an item tooltip.
  • Changed the size of the Enchant window by adding a new stone slot.
    • This is for Mythic items. All Mythic slots increase by one (except for underwear).
  • Lunafrost visual effects have been changed.
    • Will only show on the grip (?)
    • Depending on quality and type of the Lunafrost, it shows different colors and shapes.
  • Added a description to attribute skills to 156 items that can affect the performance of the skill.
    • This change is not retroactive, and existing items will only affect regular (non attribute) skills.
  • Gold acquisition from sport fishing has been increased.
  • Chances of obtaining Unidentified Weapons/Armor and crates in Auroria have been increased.
  • Added Successor Coinpurses and Crates.
    • Available from Successor Level 1 mobs and up. Usually from Whalesong and Candlestick Strait.
  • Made some Unidentified equipment available at Weapon and Armor merchants.
    • Selected from random Level 22+ items.
    • Uses labor to identify item, same as one you might find while farming mobs.
  • Changed the table of items that can be obtained from hidden Treasure Chests from Treasure Maps.
    • Amount of Black Pearl (the crafting item) has been reduced.
    • Arcane and Heroic map reward list has been changed.
    • Archeum Essences can no longer be obtained from Arcane and Heroic maps.
  • Added the ability to change the appearance of underwear.
    • Can only change the appearance of the same underwear kind only.
    • You will need 10 Fusion Alembics to perform this.
  • Dwarves and Warborn can now wear the Fir Ladies’ Festive Underwear.
  • Dwarves and Warborn can now wear the following costumes (some may already be available in our region, some are not even in ours):
    • New Year Festival Clothing (these)
    • Homecoming Gowns, Bloodmaw, and those cash shop costumes that are blue/yellow/red-pink
    • Swimsuits
    • Haughty and Arrogant Duelist Costumes
    • Maid Costumes
    • Hello Kitty Costume
    • This… Wood costume.
    • Royal’s Disguise
    • Angelic Whisper

  • Cost of repairing items have been increased.
    • Higher level/Higher tier = higher cost to repair
  • Rate of deterioration of equipped gear is increased.
    • Being hit or hitting enemies decreases equipment durability.

Crafting

  • Changed the kind of material equipment needed from Artisan’s to Ayanad.
    • Upper tier consumes a lower tier that’s at a specific grade.
  • Can consume a higher grade of the material equipment than needed.
    • Just note that it does nothing to the final product.
      • Illustrious needs a Rare Conqueror’s Gear.
      • Magnificentย needs an Arcane Illustrious’s Gear.
      • Epherium needs a Heroic Magnificentย Gear.
      • Delphinad needs a Unique Epherium Gear.
      • Ayanad needs a Celestial Delphinad Gear.
  • Removed tiers below Conqueror’s from crafting portfolio.
    • But they can still be used.
    • If you want, hop over to Mirage Isle and you can convert it to a higher tier (using labor).
  • As a result of removing tiers below Conqueror’s, the quantity of materials for higher tiers have increased a little.
  • Changed required materials and results of crafting, visible at a gear crafting station.
    • Added a requirement grade of material gear for an upper tier in equipment making.
    • Illustrious labor cost has decreased from 1,400 LP to 600 LP.
    • Number of basic materials have been increased compared to the existing ones.
    • Removed pearls from materials.
    • There are no more Glowing procs on Sealed equipment at an Armorer’s house. However, you might save some gold since unsealing it will range from Basic to Arcane grade.
      • Erenor gear may only be obtained in the Basic grade, however.
  • Obsidian gear now require Sealed Illustrious-Ayanad.
  • Added Erenor synthesis equipment and upgraded Raid Boss gear to the Equipment Encyclopedia.
  • Increased labor cost for crafting Ayanad from 800 to 1,250.
  • Edited tooltip for tiers lower than Conqueror’s to say that you can convert them in Mirage Isle.
  • Quests and achievements related to crafting tiers below Conqueror have been removed.

Farming

  • Wild plants have been changed in 7 zones in both Nuia and Haranya. Wild plants are now easier to see.
  • Added new local plants to Golden Ruins and Whale Song.
    • Can only be purchased at merchants in their respective zones.
    • Has a growing area, and takes 8 hours to grow.
    • Grows well regardless of the kind of climate, and is used for Auroria packs.
  • Changed the number of Fresh Fertilizer obtained from animal pens. (I will write the number you obtain in 3.5):
    • Chicken Coop: 6
    • Duck Cage: 6
    • Goose Cage: 6
    • Sheep Pen: 16
    • Goat Pen: 16

  • Placing crops or animals outside of protected area no longer consumes labor.

  • Ocean Traders do not apply any price adjustments to packs you turn in to them.
    • However, you receive it instantly(?)
    • Added 29 achievements related to Trading Posts.

Ships

  • Changed the safety deposit and protection period of ship construction.
    • Clipper: Now 30g safety deposit and protected for 12 hours.
    • Merchant Ship/Fish-Find Longliner: Now 45g safety deposit and protected for 18 hours.
    • Small Warship: Now 75g safety deposit and protected for 36 hours.
    • Medium Warship: Now 300g safety deposit and protected for 108 hours.
  • Improved the visual effects when a Bonekraal Figurehead is used.
  • Improved steering of the ship’s rudder.
  • On ships, the follow function is unavailable while on board.

Miscellaneous

  • Grade classification changed.
    • Changed from Mythic being the top tier to Primordial.

  • Added markers for Family and Expedition housing.
    • You can toggle them on and off via the map.
    • Only buildings set to public (for both), family (for Family), and guild (for Guild), can be seen on the map. (You can’t view your guildmate’s entire mass of land, sadly. Only stuff they set to guild or public.)
  • Language tab in Skills has been removed. It has been moved to proficiency.
  • Name of building is displayed in the Building Information UI.

    I stopped reading as soon as I saw that they are removing that fence between Perinoor and Windscour. It used to feel meaningful and like something which could decide the difference between a successful and a dismal one, but these days it just feels like little more than an annoyance which I have conditioned myself to react negatively to.

    Is this translation correct? I mean currently leather set reduces knock down time by 20%, will this effect be replaced by -20% fall damage??? Is that true?! Such a major nerf…

    I’ve been following your blog since I first found it on the official forums. I appreciate the effort put in for it.

    I do have a question though. After you seal a piece of gear, can you unseal it and gain a change in stat (ie squall or wave) and reseal it again, repeating this process till you get what you want?
