Hey there! I’ve been asked one can get onto the Korean ArcheAge multiple times, and I’ve decided that I could post a short guide on how to do this.
The process is rather simple. The most trouble that you might have it trying to understand the Korean language in the game launcher and in the game itself! That’s the biggest problem I had (haha)!
Getting an Account
There have been rumors floating around that you need a Korean SSN to sign up. Luckily, the registration/verification of your account doesn’t require that anymore. All it needs is a Korean phone number (from acceptable carriers) or an I-PIN.
But those two are still difficult to get since they are both things that you can only really get if you’re from Korea. (Okay, maybe you have a friend in Korea that’s willing to give you their phone number.)
I think the easiest way to create/get an account is to simply buy it. There are already people who’ve made accounts that are ready to use. All you have to do is buy the account.
I bought my Korean account from this website OBT Game’s site. It’s $10, and you get an email with the credentials within 24 hours. They have made an email and password for you, and you can change the password to something you are more likely to remember.
Logging into ArcheAge KR and downloading
The next step is to log into the Korea’s ArcheAge website to download the game. You can visit here if you’re from the US and you’re visiting the Korean ArcheAge website for the first time. Otherwise, you can go here.
To log in, you must go to the button on the top right of the screen. If you’re in Google Chrome, it will say “Log In”. Input your email and password, and don’t forget to check the box that says “I am not a robot”! The verification may ask you to do a quick puzzle.
To download the game, click here once you’re logged in. Make sure you have enough space for the Korean game, and then click one of the download buttons (doesn’t matter which) to download the installer.
Once the installer is done downloading, you can go through the simple installation process to put the game on your computer.
Note: If you are putting the game files in the same folder where your NA/EU folder is, it may ask you if you want to remove that. Make sure you don’t put it in that folder, unless you really don’t mind uninstalling your game.
After that, the game launcher will start to download the game (like it does in the Glyph launcher). Take this time to take a nap or watch a few episodes of a TV show as it’s going to take a while for it to download (unless you’re like my friend who has super fast internet speeds). It’ll take several hours for it to download and decompress the game files.
Once that’s done, you can go ahead and click the play button (the big red button), but make sure it’s not still downloading the game, or it will pause the download.
Launching the game
Once you’ve started the game, you might see that you are asked for your email and password again! Unlike the NA/EU version, you’ll need to input your account credentials every time you want to play the game.
Note that if you have another instance running, the Korean version will not launch.
And that’s it! Create your character and start adventuring in the world of Erenor. The UI is pretty much the same as the NA/EU. Have fun!
