[Status Update] 8 February, 2017

Hello everyone!

I apologize for the hiatus. There hasn’t been much new information coming out of the KR version. From this, I’m stagnating a bit because I am not sure what I want to post (even with everyone’s suggestions on that “What Do You Want Me to Post Next?” post.

Additionally, I’ve been a bit busy with my studies for school, as I wish to try out “dual-enrollment”, which is taking courses at a nearby community college, or go there part-time! I can do this “dual-enrollment” once I finish all of my high school credit requirements. If I happen to do the part-time, I’ll have about four hours of free time that can be devoted to studies, working, or internships. I hope to do the part-time college, since I want to experience the college life before I officially go to one.

Currently, I am taking one combined course in math, which is AP Calculus AB and BC. It’s a lot of work for doing both AB and BC in one year! I’m also planning to take the AP World History exam. I hope to earn college credits in both courses.

It may come across as a surprise that I am a high school student 🙂 Forgive me for my elementary writing skills, haha.

I won’t be able to take too much of a break during the spring and summer breaks since I intend to try to push myself hard during my junior year of high school to try to get as many college credits as I can (it’s cheaper to take AP to earn credits rather than taking the course at college), and to try out the college courses itself.

Alongside those academic things, I will try to earn my driver’s permit/license ASAP so I can go to the college myself 🙂 Wish me luck ehehe

As for ArcheAge, I might try out doing videos as one person has suggested. I’ll also try to post any balance notes and interesting videos/screenshots from other regions. I’ll also be thinking of setting up a redirect service for this site and get a shorter URL for it (so all pre-existing links on forums and other mediums will redirect to the new URL).

And finally, thank you all for your support ^_^

[ArcheAge 3.5] – What Posts Do You Want To See?

I’ve been pushing out posts about 3.5 the last few days, but I’m curious: What things specifically would you guys want to know?

I, and some others, will be working on translating the Korean patch notes.

Comment below, and I’ll try to group some suggestions into several posts 🙂 (Note that there are bound to be inaccuracies from interpretation, so please do not use this blog as the primary source for information, until I post stuff that’s on our PTS/live version.)

Questions on other posts I’ll try to ASAP.

I have done a rough translation of the patch notes, available here.

[ArcheAge 3.5] – Mana Wisps

Mentioned at the end of the last post, mana wisps are no longer regularly used in update 3.5. However, if you do have some in 3.5, you can exchange them for Illustrious to Ayanad sealed items.

This post will explain how to exchange wisps, and how many wisps you need to do that.

(Salvage Forges for homes no longer function. You can break them down into Thunderstruck Trees, keep it in your house as decoration, or vendor it… I don’t recommend selling it to a vendor though.) Continue reading

[ArcheAge 3.5] – Obsidian Gear Crafting Changes

Unlike the crafted weapons (Illustrious-Erenor), Obsidian gear still has grade inheritance, so if you decide to use a Divine Obsidian Shortspear to craft an Ominous Obsidian Shortspear, it will still retain the Divine grade (or have an extremely small chance to go up a grade).  This could be a possible reason why the regrade rates (as seen in this post) for Obsidian gear are lower than Illustrious-Ayanad and other weapons, because Obsidian gear will inherit the grade the material weapon was, unlike Illustrious-Erenor’s grade requirement for crafting up. (They made it easier to regrade successfully for Illustrious to Ayanad so it’s easier to upgrade.)

Without further ado, let’s look at what crafting recipe changes that have occurred for Obsidian gear in 3.5! Continue reading

[ArcheAge 3.5] – Trading Changes

Maritime trade, and trading in general, has been reworked for the 3.5 update. This is an attempt to bring back groups working together to move packs, and a promotion of naval battle to try to get those packs.

(They wish to have more interaction among players with these changes in trading.)

[ArcheAge 3.5] – Player Progression and Skills

(As a foreword, I’d like to say that the previous post had been titled incorrectly. It should be ArcheAge 3.5, not 3.1.)

The title of the update in the Korean version will be “Arche”, meaning the origins/beginnings of Erenor history.

Yesterday, XLGames/AmiGO! released a post detailing information about further character progression. This includes a set of special levels (called “Successor” levels in the Korean version) and different attributes/elements for actives in skill trees. Continue reading

ArcheAge 3.1 Announced!

XLGames’ ArcheAge website has shown a teaser for the upcoming 3.1 update.

The teaser website says that this update (or at least more information of it) will be released on January 19, 2017 for the Korean version of the game.

According to XLGames’/AmiGO!’s post, the update (for the Korean version) will be called “Arche”, as it promises to go back to the roots of ArcheAge. (More of the information behind the name choice will be explained next week, as said in the post.)

In this patch, there seems to be key points XLGames wants to implement in this patch:

  • More character and item growth (possibly higher levels? new gear tier?)
  • Increasing the amount of overseas trading
  • Balance new and veteran players in multiple aspects
  • Add/improve conveniences
